Set Up a Preventive Maintenance Plan
Prepare asset-specific tasks, scheduling rules and review measures before activating a PM plan.

Choose the initial scope
Start with a manageable group of critical assets and a named planner. Use asset history, OEM guidance and approved engineering requirements to select tasks. A generic software checklist is not a substitute for an equipment-specific maintenance procedure.
Define the task and trigger
For each task, record the asset, approved instruction, responsible skill, estimated duration, materials, access requirements and completion evidence. Select a calendar, meter or condition trigger only when supported by the configured system and reliable source data. Define how missed or rescheduled work is handled.
Test the schedule
Check the next generated dates across shifts, time zones and production windows. Confirm the assignee can access the job, required records are available and notifications reach the intended team. Use a small pilot before enabling a large schedule.
Review effectiveness
Track due jobs, completed jobs, late jobs and deferrals using a consistent reporting period. Investigate repeat corrective work after a PM. Change task intervals through the responsible engineering process; do not shorten or lengthen them solely to improve a dashboard score.
